Hi Evelyn,

In addition to the reproduction fees, there are also use fees that apply and a use agreement is required. The fee schedule can be found here http://reuther.wayne.edu/files/USE_FEES_Documents.pdf. The fees are applicable per page. If the newspaper has to be scanned in two pieces per page, you will only be charged for one.

In order to complete the use agreement, we need to know the following:
1. Publication type (print, broadcast, documentary, exhibit, or website)
2. The corresponding print run/market to that publication type (i.e., print, journal, print run under 1,000)
3. Whether you need the scans in PDF or JPG format

Thank you,
Kristen

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, these scans are for publication. They don't need to be high resolution, however, 72 dpi is fine.

Let me know if there are any other forms I need to fill out for this.

All bestm

Evelyn

Good Morning -

We're finding that - based on the form you submitted, it looks like your request may be a permissions order?

Could you please verify if these scans are going to be used in a publication or not?

If they are, please email my colleague, Kristen Chinery, Reference Archivist (cc'ed here) directly so she can get the necessary information to do a use agreement.

If this is for publication, the scans that have been done will also need to be rescanned.

If they are for research purposes only, then we have everything we need and can move forward.

Thanks -

Alison,

Thank you for your quick reply! And glad you enjoyed the book. I'll have to come by and say hi the next time I'm in Detroit.

One thing: I don't live in the US, but I do have a family member's address I can use for billing purposes, if need be. I did already fill out the link you sent. Let me know!

Best,

Evelyn

Alison Stankrauff,

I am hoping you can help me. I am looking for the April 1 edition of The South End from the years 2004 and 2005. Is there any way you could have either scans or photocopies of those newspapers made? I'd be happy to pay for any photocopying or scanning costs.

all best,

Evelyn Aschenbrenner
