Hi Denise -

This is what I'm hearing:

We recommend that you look at and use the Gaylord Company:

http://www.gaylord.com/

Gaylord Archival | Archival Supplies, Exhibit & Display Cases
www.gaylord.com
Offers archival and conservation supplies, library furniture, and online information service.

They have great archival supplies that ensure the preservation of your materials.

And Wayne State contracts with them - so you ought to get a University price on them.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Happy to help!

Hey Lady!

We give the names of the vendors that we work with. Our supply budget is extremely small, unfortunately, so if we make allowances for one group we have to make it for everyone who asks, and we can't afford it.

We buy most of our supplies through Gaylord--I am not sure if they are on the vendor list, but our purchases are always allowed.

Hi -

I touched base with Louis on this - only as I'm not sure how WSU does this sort of thing....

I know how I did it at IUSB - but this is a whole different landscape!

Do we -

Provide the patron with preservation materials since they're part of the University?

Or do we -

Provide them the name of company/companies that WSU contracts with?

Thanks!

Alison,
I hope you don’t mind me asking a question.
We are working on putting together historical items we can display next year at some of our larger alumni events. We have a number of class composites in various sizes that we plan to include. Do you now if they sell sleeves of various sizes we could put them in to keep them protected? Or what would you recommend. Most of them (if not all) have duplicates but if there is an easy option I would love to protect them.
Let me know what you think, or if there is someone better to ask.
-Denise
